What is a Skate and Track System?

Pallet loading systems for trucks

The skate and track system is a manual truck loading/unloading system for moving of pallets and paper reels. This pallet loading system consists of manual operated rolling skates that run in special sunken track and are elevated to lift the load and roll in or out of the truck or van. The Joloda Skate handles pallets, slipsheets, drums, newsprint rolls, heavy and large machinery.

Joloda has made its mark on the global market not only for its automatic skates but also for manual alternatives.

We offer the Skate and Track, a manual pallet loading system ideal for trucks and light vehicles. It is suitable for businesses that deal with manageable quantities of material and operate using rear-truck loading.

We understand that not all areas of a logistics process flow or material distribution require automatic conveyors. Where heavy-duty and automatic loading systems are excessive, the Skate and Track system is a cost-effective solution.

Why Use It?

  • 33% faster than conventional truck loading – 3.5 tons per minute per operator
  • Maximum space utilisation and no product damage
  • A fail-safe system with front and rear safety brakes
  • Minimum maintenance, a self-cleaning system

Who Uses It?

  • Any transporter who only has the option of rear loading and who only requires a manual trailer loading system
  • 250,000 systems operating in over 30 countries worldwide for 50 years!

Effortless Truck Loading

A skate track loading system consists of sunken floor tracks and pairs of manually-elevated rolling skates. Operators insert the skates into the tracks beneath each pallet. Elevating the skates lifts the load and allows operators to push the pallets inside the truck (loading) or pull them towards the rear (unloading) with minimal effort.

One person can man this system; but, when handling palletised loads and other heavy containers, a forklift operator can also serve as backup.

No Time Wasted

There’s no need to remove the skates once the pallets are loaded onto the truck. Upon the vehicle’s arrival at the designated location, operators can immediately begin unloading by pulling the pallets towards the mouth of the truck.

Versatile Loading and Unloading System

Our portable pallet skates come in pairs and are available in various lengths. Keeping a stock of varied skate lengths ensures that your crew can handle all sizes of pallets and containers.

Save on Resources

Since loading and unloading using cargo skates on tracks does not require electricity or fuel, your factory can save on energy and maintenance costs. With simple machines performing the bulk of the work, our Skate and Track systems make it possible to de-man bloated loading and unloading sections, delegate new responsibilities to redundant workers and save on employee costs.

Our manual loading systems bring plenty of benefits. Incorporate the Skate and Track system into your logistics process flow and save on monetary and human resources. Email or call us to get started.
