Description
Kwena, the crocodile in Setswana, is a symbol of status and power in ancient, and in tribal cultures.
On land, the seemingly ungainly body, heavy with armour, masks the speed, agility and stealth with which it moves through the water to attack its prey. Locking its jaws with 3.3 tonnes of force, the crocodile’s grip is not easily dislodged. However, using these same jaws with fearsome teeth, it will carry its hatchlings from their nest gently down to their first immersion in water.
